    BTS’ RM Defended Jung Kook’s ‘Seven’ Lyrics Amid Label Concerns

    BTS leader RM revealed he intervened to support Jung Kook when label executives expressed hesitation about the explicit lyrics in the global hit “Seven.” In a recent interview, Jung Kook discussed the boldness of the track, which features rapper Latto, emphasizing his comfort with the song’s mature content. He stated he was not embarrassed by the lyrics, expressing a confident attitude with the phrase, “So what?”

    RM recalled advocating for the original version of the song when concerns arose behind the scenes. He urged the label not to alter the lyrics, asserting, “He’s all grown up. He can sing an f-word,” defending Jung Kook’s artistic freedom and maturity.

    Released in 2023, “Seven” achieved tremendous success, setting a record as the fastest song to reach one billion streams on Spotify. It also claimed the No. 1 position on the Billboard Global 200 chart, solidifying Jung Kook’s reputation as a powerful solo artist. Meanwhile, Latto described her collaboration with Jung Kook as “surreal,” praising his worldwide fanbase and the overwhelming positive response to the song. She admitted to feeling initial pressure but found the experience highly rewarding due to the enthusiastic reception of her verse.

    In a significant development for BTS fans, the group released their latest studio album, ARIRANG, in March, continuing their influential presence in the music industry.
