The incident occurred on the Inside Jeopardy! podcast when an audience member asked Jennings whether he had considered who might succeed him if he decided to step down.
In response, Jennings replied with humor, deflecting the question rather than providing a definitive answer about a potential replacement. The quiz show legend, who assumed hosting duties in 2021 following the passing of Alex Trebek, initially shared the role before becoming the primary host.
