Kim Kardashian Produces Broadway Play Highlighting Criminal Justice Reform

Kim Kardashian is making an unexpected entrance into Broadway by taking on the role of producer for The Fear of 13, a stage adaptation centered on a real-life wrongful conviction case. The production, based on the story of Nick Yarris, will be performed at the James Earl Jones Theatre this spring and features Adrien Brody and Tessa Thompson in leading roles.

Notably, Kardashian connects her Broadway debut to her ongoing dedication to criminal justice reform. She described the project as deeply personal, emphasizing how the play exposes the flaws within the justice system. The narrative follows Yarris, who endured 22 years on death row for a crime he did not commit, a story Kardashian believes has the potential to provoke meaningful dialogue about justice.

“My hope is that this production sparks a real conversation about the true meaning of justice,” she stated, underscoring the play’s social significance.

This move into theatre coincides with Kardashian’s pursuit of a legal career, inspired by her late father, Robert Kardashian, who was famously part of O. J. Simpson’s defense team. She passed the “baby bar” exam in 2021 and has been studying law for several years, although she did not pass the full bar exam in 2025. Kardashian has also indicated plans to eventually step back from her public life to focus on becoming a trial lawyer.

Alongside her expanding business ventures, Kardashian has increasingly aligned her work with advocacy efforts. Recently, she starred as a high-powered divorce attorney in the TV drama All’s Fair, created by Ryan Murphy. Her involvement in The Fear of 13 marks a significant step into live theatre, merging storytelling with her activism as she broadens her influence beyond reality television.

The Fear of 13 is scheduled to open this spring, promising to bring attention to critical issues within the criminal justice system through a compelling theatrical experience.
