Two Sisters Killed After Falling From Motorcycle, Hit by Oil Tanker in Karachi

In a tragic incident late Monday night in Karachi’s Nazimabad No 1, two young sisters lost their lives and a boy was injured after falling off a motorcycle and being struck by a passing oil tanker. Rescue officials confirmed the fatalities and injuries following the accident.

Police clarified that the tanker did not collide directly with the motorcycle. Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcycle lost balance due to a damaged section of the road, causing the sisters to fall. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central stated that the sisters fell because of the broken road surface and were subsequently run over by the tanker moving alongside them.

The tanker driver initially fled the scene but was later apprehended by authorities. The vehicle has been seized for further investigation. The boy riding the motorcycle sustained minor injuries, and the motorcycle itself did not suffer significant damage.

Emergency teams transported the injured to a nearby hospital; however, both sisters, identified as Easter and Angel, succumbed to their injuries before receiving medical treatment. The tanker driver has been named Maroof Shah by the police.

This incident underscores the persistent problem of reckless driving by heavy vehicle operators in Karachi, especially in densely populated residential neighborhoods. Local residents have frequently expressed concerns about the unregulated movement of heavy vehicles, which often results in fatal accidents.
