The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced the launch of the Ehsaas Fuel Support Scheme aimed at providing financial relief to commercial vehicle owners. This initiative comes in response to the recent surge in petroleum prices triggered by geopolitical tensions involving Iran, which have impacted fuel costs nationwide.

Both federal and provincial authorities have been actively rolling out various fuel assistance programs targeting different segments, including motorcyclists and public transport operators. In a significant development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has now focused on commercial vehicles, offering monthly subsidies to ease the burden on transport operators who are vital to the region’s economy.

the provincial Transport Department, the subsidy amounts will vary depending on the type of vehicle. Bus operators stand to receive up to Rs100,000 per month, while owners of larger vehicles will be granted Rs80,000. Truck operators will benefit from Rs70,000 in monthly fuel support. Additionally, minibuses and vans will receive Rs40,000 and Rs35,000 respectively. This tiered approach aims to address the diverse needs of the commercial transport sector effectively.

Meanwhile, the Transport Department has emphasized that the entire application process for the Ehsaas Fuel Support Scheme will be fully digitized. This move is designed to streamline submissions, enhance transparency, and ensure that eligible applicants can access the subsidies with greater ease and efficiency. The scheme reflects the provincial government’s commitment to supporting the transport industry during challenging economic times.
