Magnitude 4.5 Earthquake Rattles Balochistan, No Casualties Reported

On Saturday, a moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 jolted parts of Balochistan, causing alarm among local residents. The tremors were notably felt in several districts, including Barkhan and Zhob, where people hurriedly evacuated their homes out of concern for their safety.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department provided details about the seismic event, stating that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 25 kilometers. The epicenter was pinpointed approximately 110 kilometers southeast of Zhob, a region known for its seismic activity due to its location near tectonic fault lines.

In a significant development, officials confirmed that there have been no immediate reports of injuries or structural damage resulting from the quake. This has brought some relief to the affected communities, although authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure public safety.

Earthquakes of this magnitude, while moderate, can still cause considerable anxiety in areas with vulnerable infrastructure. Balochistan, being a seismically active province, has experienced similar tremors in the past, prompting ongoing efforts to improve disaster preparedness and response mechanisms in the region.
