Islamabad Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for April 11 and 12, detailing significant road closures and alternative routes to regulate movement throughout the capital. This plan aims to ensure smooth traffic flow amid heightened restrictions.
Travelers heading to Rawalpindi via GT Road are advised to use the Chakri, Motorway, and Chak Beli Road routes. Similarly, those journeying towards Peshawar from GT Road should opt for the Chak Beli Road and Chakri pathways.
Vehicles departing from sectors G-6, G-5, and F-6 en route to Rawalpindi are directed to take Ninth Avenue. Likewise, traffic moving from Faisal Avenue to Zero Point will be rerouted along Ninth Avenue. Commuters traveling from Bara Kahu to Rawalpindi have been recommended to use Korang Road, while those coming from Rawalpindi to Islamabad should also utilize Ninth Avenue.
Meanwhile, the advisory specifies that traffic between Zero Point and Faisal Avenue, Korral Chowk, and the Expressway will be completely closed. Motorists traveling from Srinagar Highway to Faizabad are instructed to take Stadium Road via the Ninth Avenue signal.
For those arriving via Peshawar Road, alternative routes include the Taxila Motorway and Tarnol Phatak. Traffic bound for H-11 and Islamabad International Airport is advised to use Chakri Road.
In a significant development, all roads leading to and from the Red Zone will remain fully sealed, with a ban on heavy traffic entering Islamabad throughout the two-day period.
Authorities have urged the public to adhere strictly to the traffic plan and to schedule their journeys accordingly to minimize disruptions.
