Law Roach shared insights into the narrative approach he took with Zendaya’s fashion choices during the press tour for her film The Drama. Speaking on April Tuesday at the opening night of Cats: The Jellicle Ball on Broadway, Roach detailed the concept behind the actress’s standout outfits.
The Drama, featuring Zendaya alongside Robert Pattinson, centers on an engaged couple whose relationship is tested by a startling revelation just before their wedding. Reflecting this wedding theme, Zendaya and Roach crafted a series of red carpet looks inspired by bridal symbolism. Notably, the actress incorporated the traditional wedding rhyme by wearing “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.”
Roach elaborated on the inspiration, emphasizing the storytelling element: “It’s an old tradition many brides embrace, and since the movie revolves around a wedding, it felt like a fitting concept to explore.”
Looking ahead, Zendaya is set for a busy year with multiple high-profile projects, including the third season of Euphoria, Dune: Part Three, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and The Odyssey. When asked if he could hint at her next press appearance, Roach declined to reveal any details, simply stating, “Nothing.”
