Queen Latifah is set to return to the spotlight as the host of the 2026 American Music Awards, one of the most prominent events in the music industry. CBS and Dick Clark Productions announced on April 7 that the acclaimed rapper, singer, and actress will lead the ceremony, marking a significant comeback to the iconic stage.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Latifah said she is thrilled to host the event this year. She highlighted the remarkable year music has experienced and emphasized that there is no better place to celebrate than Las Vegas.

This will be Latifah’s second time hosting the AMAs. She previously co-hosted the ceremony in 1995 alongside Tom Jones and Lorrie Morgan. Over the years, she has also delivered memorable performances, including a notable 2008 rendition of “Superwoman” with Alicia Keys and Kathleen Battle.

Organizers praised her return as a perfect match for the show’s legacy. Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions, described Queen Latifah as a true powerhouse and trailblazer. He noted her dynamic presence and strong connection with both fans and artists, making her the ideal choice to host a night dedicated to honoring the biggest names in music.

The 2026 American Music Awards will be held on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Nominations are scheduled to be revealed on April 14, with fan voting opening the same day and continuing through May 8.

Last year’s ceremony, hosted by Jennifer Lopez, featured an energetic lineup of performances from some of the industry’s top stars, setting a high standard for the upcoming event.
