David Schwimmer has publicly denounced Kanye West, describing him as “one of the most recognizable hate-mongering bigots in the world.” On his official Instagram account, Schwimmer posted an extensive statement applauding Pepsi and Diageo for withdrawing their sponsorships from the Wireless Festival following the announcement that Ye would headline the event.
He expressed approval of these companies’ decisions, highlighting their moral clarity in contrast to Wireless and Festival Republic, which chose to continue supporting the festival despite Ye’s controversial reputation. Schwimmer emphasized that Ye has long used his celebrity platform to spread hate and violence against Jewish people, disseminating antisemitic lies and stereotypes to his 33 million followers—more than double the current global Jewish population.
The actor, best known for his role in Friends, argued that Ye’s rhetoric has had severe consequences, causing “incalculable, irreparable damage” over recent years. He accused the rapper of fueling worldwide hatred and inciting violence against Jewish communities everywhere.
In a significant development, Ye is scheduled to perform at the 2026 Wireless Festival, set to take place in London’s Finsbury Park from July 10 to 12. This booking has sparked widespread controversy and prompted major sponsors to reconsider their involvement with the event.
