The Sindh government has officially declared a two-day holiday for the Christian community in observance of Easter, as stated in a notification released on Friday. This decision allows Christian employees working in provincial government departments to take leave on April 5 and 6 to participate in the religious festivities.

Easter holds significant religious importance for Christians, who commemorate it annually with deep devotion and traditional celebrations. The festival is marked by special church services held at various locations, where members of the Christian community gather to offer prayers for salvation as well as for the prosperity and well-being of Pakistan.

In a significant development, authorities have intensified security measures nationwide to ensure peace and stability during the Easter celebrations. This move aims to safeguard the community and maintain law and order throughout the holiday period.

Meanwhile, in Punjab, Minister and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Khawaja Salman Rafique, confirmed that comprehensive and foolproof security arrangements are being implemented across the province. These efforts are focused on upholding public safety during the Holy Week observed by the Christian community, reflecting a coordinated approach to managing security during this important religious occasion.
