Jamie Bell is poised to lead the next chapter of the acclaimed series Peaky Blinders, taking on a pivotal role as the narrative advances into a new generation. Bell will portray Duke Shelby, the son of Tommy Shelby, as the storyline transitions to the 1950s, following the events depicted in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

This new era will be set roughly a decade after the film, delving into post-war Birmingham and focusing on the Shelby family as they navigate a rapidly evolving world. Duke Shelby is expected to be depicted as more mature, ambitious, and dangerous, stepping into a central position within the family saga.

The cast expands with notable additions including Charlie Heaton, known for his role in Stranger Things, alongside Jessica Brown Findlay and Lashana Lynch. Additionally, Lucy Karczewski will make her television debut in this series. Creator Steven Knight expressed his excitement about launching this new phase of the show, hinting that further casting announcements will be revealed soon.

This project follows Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, which recently premiered in Birmingham and continues the Shelby family’s story. The new series is produced by Banijay UK’s Kudos and Garrison Drama for both the and Netflix. Filming is underway in and around Birmingham, reflecting a broader investment in television production within the West Midlands.

The upcoming installment will consist of two series, each comprising six hour-long episodes. It is scheduled to debut on iPlayer and One in the UK, with a global release on Netflix. This announcement signifies a significant expansion of the Peaky Blinders universe, as the narrative moves beyond its original timeline to introduce a new generation of characters.
