JIUI-F Chief and Chinese Envoy Call for US-Iran Ceasefire to Prevent Economic Crisis

Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong met with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence in Islamabad on Thursday to discuss the ongoing peace process between the United States and Iran. The meeting underscored diplomatic support for efforts aimed at resolving regional tensions and halting hostilities in the Middle East.

Both leaders emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran. They highlighted that the continuation of the war breaches international law, infringes on Iran’s sovereignty, and risks severe global economic repercussions if left unchecked.

Ambassador Jiang pointed out that failure to achieve a ceasefire could destabilize global markets, disrupt energy supplies, and threaten economic stability not only in the Middle East but also across Europe and other regions. Both parties agreed that peaceful diplomacy and dialogue remain the only sustainable paths toward a lasting resolution.

In a significant development, their statements align with broader international initiatives, including a joint Pakistan-China effort advocating for an immediate cessation of hostilities and renewed diplomatic negotiations. Experts stress that a peace agreement is vital for reopening navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial artery for global energy shipments.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman reaffirmed JUI-F’s dedication to enhancing Pakistan-China relations and fostering regional peace. The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to prioritize diplomatic solutions and urgently address economic and regional risks through dialogue rather than conflict.
