Authorities in Lahore have reported that the primary suspect involved in an acid attack on a ninth-grade student in Chohung was injured during a police encounter. One suspect was also wounded by gunfire from an accomplice and subsequently arrested, while the second suspect remains at large.
The incident took place as the student was returning home from her academy when the suspects suddenly threw acid at her before fleeing the scene. The victim is currently hospitalized, suffering burns on her face, head, and shoulders.
Meanwhile, police in Green Town intercepted two suspicious motorcyclists who opened fire on officers, resulting in gunfire directed at the police vehicle. The injured suspect was taken to Jinnah Hospital for treatment, and the search for the other suspect continues.
Authorities revealed that the attack was motivated by a personal dispute, with the perpetrators targeting the girl after she refused a marriage proposal. A formal case has been registered following a complaint from the victim’s father.
Law enforcement agencies remain actively engaged in pursuing the remaining suspect while prioritizing the victim’s safety and medical care.
