Iranian Drone Attack Sets Fire to Fuel Tanks at Kuwait Airport

Kuwait City witnessed a significant security incident as Kuwait International Airport was struck by drones launched by Iran and its allied armed groups, resulting in a major fire at the airport’s fuel storage tanks. The General Directorate of Civil Aviation confirmed the attack, emphasizing the blatant nature of the assault. Abdullah Al‑Rajhi, the spokesman, reported that although the fuel tanks were severely damaged, there were no casualties.

In a related escalation across the Gulf region, Bahrain’s interior ministry announced a fire at a commercial facility attributed to Iranian aggression. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s defense ministry intercepted and destroyed multiple drones targeting its territory.

Further tensions were evident off Qatar’s coast, where a tanker was struck by an unidentified projectile 17 nautical miles north of Doha. The British Maritime Trade Operations confirmed the vessel sustained hull damage above the waterline but assured that the crew remained unharmed and no environmental damage occurred. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

These events follow a recent Iranian attack on a Kuwaiti oil tanker docked at Dubai Port, which caused a fire but no injuries. Since the conflict began with US-Israeli strikes against Iran on February 28, Tehran has intensified missile and drone attacks on Israel and Gulf allies. The Iranian regime has openly threatened to target critical infrastructure throughout the Gulf, particularly energy facilities, escalating regional instability.
