In a significant development, Pakistan and China reaffirmed their strategic partnership and jointly called for peace and stability in West Asia after high-level discussions held in Beijing on Tuesday. The talks involved Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

The meeting, described as conducted in an exceptionally warm and cordial atmosphere, comprised both restricted and delegation-level talks. These discussions covered bilateral relations and regional developments comprehensively.

Both parties reviewed the entire scope of their relationship and agreed to further deepen their “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.” Emphasis was placed on advancing high-quality development and expanding economic cooperation, particularly within the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Notably, the two sides addressed a broad array of issues of mutual concern, including the evolving situation in West Asia. They jointly issued a five-point initiative aimed at fostering peace and stability across the region.

Furthermore, Pakistan and China reiterated their commitment to maintaining regular high-level exchanges and enhancing coordination within multilateral forums.

These talks coincide with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, highlighting what both described as an “iron-clad friendship” and enduring strategic trust.
