A viral video featuring Kid Rock has prompted an investigation by the US Army after two military helicopters were filmed flying close to the musician’s Tennessee estate. The footage, captured at his hilltop property near Nashville, depicts AH-64 Apache helicopters hovering unusually near as Kid Rock gestures from his poolside.
In the clips circulating online, Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, is seen clapping, saluting, and raising his fist while the helicopters pass overhead. One video shows him standing beside a replica of the Statue of Liberty, and another captures a second flyby as he reacts from his pool. The posts also included politically charged commentary, featuring a profane remark aimed at California Governor Gavin Newsom.
In response, the US Army stated the helicopters were on a routine training mission near Nashville but confirmed that an internal administrative review has been launched. Army spokesman Maj Montrell Russell explained the review aims to assess the mission and ensure compliance with regulations and airspace rules. Officials noted that appropriate action will be taken if any violations are identified.
The video has fueled speculation about whether the flyby was coincidental or intentionally linked to Kid Rock’s location. Known for his vocal support of Donald Trump and frequent politically charged posts, the footage attracted heightened attention. While the Army has not suggested the helicopters were targeting the property, it emphasized the importance of addressing concerns about aircraft activity near residential areas.
The ongoing review is expected to provide further clarity on whether any rules were breached during the flight. Meanwhile, the incident continues to raise questions about the nature of the flyby and its timing.
