Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik recently met with Kuwait’s ambassador to Pakistan, Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi, to discuss energy collaboration, bilateral ties, and regional developments. During the meeting, Malik expressed gratitude for Kuwait’s ongoing support in the energy sector and highlighted assurances from Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) to ease the passage of Pakistani-flagged vessels importing diesel and jet fuel from Kuwait.

He asked the ambassador to extend his warm regards to Kuwait’s Minister of Oil, Tariq Suleiman Ahmed Al-Roumi, and KPC’s CEO, Sheikh Nawaf Al Sabah. Malik emphasized the deep-rooted relationship between Pakistan and Kuwait, noting that the two countries have maintained strong bonds for over five decades, with Pakistan consistently relying on Kuwaiti petroleum supplies.

In a significant development, the minister reiterated that Pakistan has been importing petroleum products, especially diesel, from Kuwait for more than fifty years, underscoring the trust and partnership shared by both nations. He also conveyed his best wishes to Kuwait’s oil minister and senior KPC leadership.

Addressing regional peace and stability, Malik stated Pakistan’s desire for all brotherly nations to remain secure and peaceful. He highlighted Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s active role in facilitating peaceful conflict resolution and his personal supervision of efforts to ensure the supply of food and essential commodities to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi expressed sincere appreciation for Pakistan’s constructive contributions to peace. He praised Pakistan’s efforts and conveyed Kuwait’s prayers for their success, reaffirming Kuwait’s commitment to supporting Pakistan.

Both sides reiterated their dedication to strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the energy sector, and agreed to maintain close cooperation to expand mutual interests and benefits.
