University of Karachi Updates Class Schedule with Twice-Weekly On-Campus Sessions

The University of Karachi has implemented a revised class schedule that balances in-person and virtual learning, commencing this Monday. This new arrangement introduces a two-day weekly on-campus class routine, aiming to provide students with a structured yet flexible academic experience. Registrar Professor Dr. Imran Ahmed Siddiqui announced the updated timetable, emphasizing the university’s commitment to maintaining educational continuity amid evolving circumstances.

Under the updated plan, physical classes will be conducted every Monday and Thursday. For students enrolled in the morning program, on-campus sessions will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, while the evening program will hold its in-person classes from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM on the same days. The rest of the week’s classes will continue to be delivered online, allowing students to benefit from remote learning options.

In a significant development, Dr. Siddiqui has instructed all teaching and non-teaching staff to be present on campus during these designated days to ensure smooth academic operations. To support student mobility, the university’s transportation services will be fully operational on Mondays and Thursdays, facilitating easier access to campus facilities. This move reflects the institution’s efforts to enhance the on-campus experience while accommodating health and safety considerations.

Moreover, the Registrar highlighted that MPhil and PhD classes may be scheduled during weekly holidays, subject to departmental discretion. Heads of all departments have been directed to strictly enforce adherence to this schedule, which will remain effective until further updates are issued. This hybrid approach marks a strategic step in the university’s ongoing efforts to adapt to the changing educational landscape.
