Punjab Schools to Fully Reopen for In-Person Classes Starting April 1

The Punjab government has officially declared that all educational institutions across the province will resume operations from April 1. This decision marks a significant step toward restoring normalcy in the academic environment after a prolonged period of disruptions.

Punjab’s Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, provided detailed clarification regarding the reopening plan. He confirmed that schools, colleges, and universities will function on a regular five-day weekly schedule. The minister also addressed circulating misinformation, firmly stating that any claims about a reduced four-day school week are unfounded and should be disregarded.

In a notable development, the minister emphasized that the education system will return to fully physical classes, abandoning the hybrid model of online and offline learning that had been adopted during previous disruptions. “We are not moving toward online classes. Students should come to school and continue their studies in person,” he asserted, underscoring the government’s commitment to face-to-face education.

This announcement comes at a crucial time when students and parents have been seeking clarity on the academic calendar and the mode of instruction. The move to reopen schools physically aims to provide stability and continuity in education, ensuring that students can engage fully in classroom activities after extended closures and uncertainties.
