Defence Minister Khawaja Asif Labels Indian Diplomacy a ‘Total Failure’

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has sharply criticized India’s recent diplomatic initiatives, describing them as a complete failure. During a televised interview on Naya Pakistan, he highlighted the frustration within Indian leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, as Pakistan assumes a more prominent role in facilitating talks between the United States and Iran.

In a significant development amid evolving regional alliances and renewed diplomatic activity in South Asia, Asif argued that India’s earlier attempts to position itself as a global mediator—particularly during the Russia-Ukraine conflict—have lost momentum. He claimed that the BJP government’s constructed image of influence is now crumbling, leaving Indian officials visibly distressed as they find themselves excluded from key regional discussions.

Asif further intensified his critique by questioning the capabilities of India’s senior diplomats. Despite Minister Jaishankar’s diplomatic lineage, Asif suggested that his recent actions reveal a lack of strategic insight. He asserted that India has faltered both militarily and diplomatically, especially regarding its enduring conflict with Pakistan.

Concluding his remarks, the Defence Minister stated that the international community is witnessing the true nature of India’s leadership, which undermines the moderate image the country has attempted to project globally.
