Anne Hathaway and Dwayne Johnson have been named recipients of the prestigious Disney Legends Award for 2026. This recognition follows the release of their highly anticipated films, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ and ‘Moana,’ respectively, highlighting their significant contributions to Disney’s legacy.
The Disney Legends Award honors individuals who have made a lasting and meaningful impact on the company. Alongside Hathaway and Johnson, this year’s honorees include Jerry Bruckheimer, Chris Berman, Susan Egan, Bob Iger, Eric Goldberg, Kim Irvine, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Jonas Brothers, and Alan Tudyk.
In a significant development, Disney’s new CEO, Josh D’Amaro, emphasized that the award celebrates “the legacy of the extraordinary people whose creativity has shaped Disney into what it is today.” He further noted that the Ultimate Disney Fan Event serves as a gathering to offer fans an exclusive preview of upcoming projects, while also honoring the Disney Legends. D’Amaro remarked, “Recognizing these legends alongside the fans who cherish their work makes this event especially meaningful.”
The award ceremony is scheduled for August 16 in California, marking a notable occasion to celebrate the enduring influence of these distinguished artists and contributors to Disney’s success.
