The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is poised for significant growth in its upcoming 12th edition, as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi revealed plans to introduce additional venues. This expansion aims to extend the league’s footprint and deliver premier cricket to a broader audience across Pakistan.
Speaking casually with journalists after the successful completion of PSL 11, Naqvi emphasized that the next season would be “bigger and better,” with more cities expected to host matches. This strategy reflects the PCB’s commitment to enhancing the league’s accessibility and popularity nationwide.
Naqvi also commended the vibrant atmosphere during the PSL 11 final held in Lahore, noting the fans’ discipline and enthusiasm. He remarked that the overwhelming response from the city reaffirmed Pakistan’s deep-rooted passion for cricket.
In a significant development, PSL 11 concluded on a high note in Lahore, attracting over 35,000 spectators to the final in a peaceful and celebratory setting. The event was marked by flawless execution and strong security measures.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that all 22 matches hosted in Lahore proceeded without any incidents, attributing this success to meticulous security arrangements. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran detailed a robust four-layer security framework implemented throughout the tournament to ensure the safety of players, officials, and fans alike.
More than 7,000 security personnel were deployed, with specialized units such as Safe City, Elite Force, Dolphin Squad, and PRU working in close coordination. Authorities provided comprehensive protection to both local and international participants, as well as the spectators.
