Multan Sultans solidified their top position in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 standings with a commanding seven-wicket triumph over RawalPindiz at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Pursuing a target of 183 runs, the Sultans reached their goal comfortably, finishing with 22 balls remaining and losing only three wickets.
Despite an early blow when Mohammad Amir dismissed Steve Smith cheaply in the second over, Multan’s innings regained stability through a crucial partnership. Sahibzada Farhan and Josh Philippe combined to add 110 runs for the second wicket, shifting the momentum decisively in their favor. Farhan was the highest scorer with a rapid 68 runs off 36 balls, while Philippe contributed a swift 56 from 30 deliveries.
Following their dismissals, Shan Masood and Ashton Turner ensured a smooth finish, remaining unbeaten and guiding the Sultans to a comfortable victory without further setbacks.
Earlier, RawalPindiz posted a total of 182 for eight in their 20 overs. Their innings started shakily with an early wicket, and although Kamran Ghulam provided some stability with 35 runs, the team struggled to maintain consistent momentum. Sam Billings played a vital role towards the end, scoring an unbeaten 56, while Dian Forrester’s brief cameo added valuable runs in the closing stages.
Faisal Akram was the standout bowler for Multan Sultans, delivering an impressive spell by taking four wickets and effectively containing the opposition during the middle overs. His performance was instrumental in shaping the outcome of the match.
With this victory, Multan Sultans continue to lead the PSL 11 points table, reinforcing their strong form in the tournament.
