LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has introduced a significant relief package designed to alleviate the financial strain on the public, featuring a petrol subsidy for motorbike owners. The announcement was made through a message on X (formerly Twitter), outlining the key benefits of the initiative.

Under this new scheme, motorbike owners in Punjab will be able to purchase up to 20 liters of petrol each month at a subsidized rate of Rs. 100 per liter. The relief package also eliminates motorbike registration fees across the province and waives transfer fees, providing additional financial ease for vehicle owners.

Furthermore, every registered motorbike owner will receive a monthly subsidy amounting to Rs. 2000. This comprehensive package has been implemented immediately, with a straightforward application process to ensure accessibility for all eligible citizens.

Motorbike owners can apply for the subsidy starting April 4 by calling the helpline at 1000, using the ‘Maryam Ko Batayen’ mobile app available on the Play Store, or through the official web portal. This multi-channel approach aims to facilitate easy access to the benefits.

In a significant development, Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the government’s dedication to reducing the economic challenges faced by ordinary people. She assured that efforts are ongoing to deliver meaningful relief to every household across Punjab.
