China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi conveyed strong support for Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic initiatives aimed at fostering peace and resolving conflicts in West Asia. This endorsement was made during a meeting with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who visited Beijing officially from March 31 to April 1, 2026, at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart.

The discussions took place in a warm and friendly environment, focusing on bilateral relations and the evolving geopolitical landscape in West Asia. Deputy Prime Minister Dar provided a detailed briefing on Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to halt hostilities and revive dialogue, highlighting the recent Islamabad meeting involving foreign ministers from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt.

Both leaders examined the regional security situation and expressed serious concern about its adverse socio-economic impact on developing nations. In a significant development, they jointly launched a five-point plan aimed at restoring peace and stability across the Gulf and the broader Middle East region.

They also reviewed the positive trajectory of bilateral ties, emphasizing the commitment to high-quality growth and strategic collaboration under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) 2.0 framework. The year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, prompting efforts to boost high-level exchanges and communication.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar extended heartfelt thanks to Foreign Minister Wang Yi for the warm reception and exceptional hospitality afforded to him and his delegation. The two officials further exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan, stressing the importance of peace, stability, and effective counterterrorism measures. Both reaffirmed their intention to maintain regular contact moving forward.
