Kuwait Warns Food Businesses on Hiring Without Health Clearance

Kuwait’s Public Authority for Food and Nutrition has issued a firm warning to all food establishments regarding the employment of workers lacking the necessary health clearances. The authority emphasized that every individual working in food-related sectors must undergo mandatory medical examinations and obtain an official health certificate before commencing their duties.

Officials pointed out that employing staff who have not completed the required medical tests and received final approval breaches health regulations. The authority cautioned that establishments failing to comply with these rules could face stringent legal consequences.

This directive forms part of Kuwait’s continuous efforts to protect public health and uphold stringent food safety standards nationwide. Food business operators have been strongly advised to strictly follow these regulations and ensure all employees meet the prescribed health requirements prior to hiring.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced on Monday an update to the national alert system’s notification process on smart devices. This enhancement aims to improve the system’s efficiency by considering rest periods and guaranteeing timely delivery of alerts. The ministry confirmed that notifications will be synchronized with the activation of warning sirens throughout the country.
