Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar is scheduled to travel to China on March 31 for an official visit, responding to an invitation extended by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. This trip highlights the enduring “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” between Pakistan and China, characterized by ongoing collaboration on regional and global security issues.
The visit aims to facilitate comprehensive discussions on mutual interests and the evolving geopolitical dynamics across Asia. Notably, this diplomatic engagement follows a recent high-level phone call between Dar and Wang Yi, during which they addressed the rising tensions in the Middle East.
Pakistan is currently playing a pivotal role in mediating indirect communications between the United States and Iran, with support from regional actors such as Riyadh, Ankara, and Cairo. China has expressed strong backing for Pakistan’s constructive role in these efforts.
Both foreign ministers reiterated their dedication to advancing a ceasefire and safeguarding critical international maritime routes, including the Strait of Hormuz, through continuous dialogue and diplomatic initiatives.
