The firefighters launched an intensive operation aimed at containing the flames and preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring shops and warehouses. In December 2025, a similar fire broke out at a cloth shop in the Azam Cloth Market, located in the Rang Mahal area of the city. That fire originated in a warehouse on the fifth floor of Karachi Plaza, a multi-story commercial building known for its concentration of textile businesses. Rescue 1122 teams responded promptly to that emergency as well, deploying ten vehicles and 35 personnel to tackle the blaze.
The firefighters managed to confine the December fire to the fifth floor, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the plaza and causing more extensive damage. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in that incident either, highlighting the effectiveness of the emergency response teams in handling such crises. These recurring incidents underscore the need for enhanced fire safety measures in Lahore’s crowded market areas, where the risk of fire hazards remains high due to the storage of flammable materials like cloth and other textiles.
