Iran Issues Stern Warning to Target Facilities Supporting USS Gerald Ford in Red Sea

Iran has issued a strong warning against any facilities or centers that provide support to the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier operating in the Red Sea. The announcement came from the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, a key military command within Iran’s armed forces, which stated that any entity cooperating with or assisting the American carrier would be considered a legitimate target for Iranian military action.

The spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters emphasized that the presence of the USS Gerald Ford in the strategically vital Red Sea region is viewed by Tehran as a direct threat to the Islamic Republic’s national security. This warning highlights Iran’s growing concerns over increased US naval activity near its borders and the broader Middle East maritime routes, which are crucial for global energy supplies and regional trade.

Furthermore, the Iranian military command clarified that not only the aircraft carrier itself but also any logistical hubs, supply centers, or service points that facilitate the operations of the USS Gerald Ford in the Red Sea will be considered targets for Iranian strikes. This stance signals a significant escalation in Iran’s military posture, as it expands the scope of potential targets beyond just the American naval vessel to include its support infrastructure.

The Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters operates under the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces and is responsible for coordinating and planning military operations involving various branches of Iran’s defense forces. Its role in issuing this warning underscores the seriousness with which Iran views the US naval presence in the region and its readiness to take coordinated military action if necessary.

This development comes amid heightened tensions following a recent wave of conflict between Iran and the United States, alongside Israel. The escalation followed a deadly attack on February 28, which resulted in the assassination of several high-profile Iranian figures, including the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, senior military commanders, and civilians. In retaliation, Iranian forces have launched a series of missile and drone strikes targeting American and Israeli positions, both within occupied territories and at various regional military bases.

As the situation continues to unfold, the warning from Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters adds another layer of complexity to the already volatile security environment in the Middle East. The Red Sea, a critical maritime corridor, now stands at the center of potential military confrontations, raising concerns among international observers about the risk of broader conflict involving major regional and global powers.
