Ministry Reaffirms No Suspension of Hajj Flights Despite Middle East Unrest

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has firmly rejected recent media reports suggesting that the Hajj flights for 2026 might be halted due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. The ministry described these rumors as unfounded and misleading, emphasizing that all preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage are progressing smoothly without any interruptions.

A spokesperson from the ministry clarified that no official decision has been made to delay or suspend the Hajj flight schedule. They stressed that linking the flight arrangements to regional geopolitical issues is inaccurate and lacks any factual support. The ministry remains committed to ensuring that the pilgrimage proceeds as planned, reflecting the importance of Hajj for millions of Pakistani Muslims.

In addition to addressing the flight schedule, the ministry confirmed that the visa issuance process for prospective pilgrims is ongoing at full capacity. Administrative tasks related to the pilgrimage, including documentation and logistical arrangements, are being completed within the designated timelines. This proactive approach aims to avoid any last-minute complications and guarantees that all departure formalities will be finalized well before the journey begins.

Looking ahead, the official Hajj flight schedule will be unveiled shortly after Eid ul-Fitr celebrations conclude. At that time, pilgrims can expect to receive comprehensive details about their flights, accommodation arrangements in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, and other essential information necessary for a smooth pilgrimage experience. The ministry has urged all intending pilgrims to rely solely on official communications and to disregard any unverified or speculative news circulating in the media.

Earlier this year, the ministry had instructed private Hajj operators to complete the visa processing for Hajj 2026 by March 15, well ahead of the Saudi authorities’ final deadline of March 20. This directive was issued to the Chairman of the Hajj Organisers Association of Pakistan (HOAP) in a letter dated March 9, which highlighted the importance of timely completion to avoid any unforeseen delays, especially considering the Eid holidays and other potential disruptions.

In a related effort to facilitate pilgrims, the ministry recently published a detailed booklet titled “Rehnuma-e-Hajj” (Hajj Guide). This comprehensive guide is designed to assist pilgrims throughout every stage of their journey, from initial departure procedures in Pakistan to performing the sacred rituals in Saudi Arabia, and finally returning home. The booklet is organized into clear, easy-to-follow chapters that cover all critical aspects of the pilgrimage, ensuring that pilgrims are well-prepared and informed.
