Pakistani Forces Eliminate Five Terrorists in Lakki Marwat Operation

On the 15th of March, 2026, Pakistani security agencies executed a precise intelligence-driven operation in the Lakki Marwat District, targeting a group of militants identified as khwarij affiliated with an Indian-backed proxy organization known as Fitna al Khwarij. This operation was launched following credible intelligence reports indicating the presence of these hostile elements in the region, who were believed to be involved in destabilizing activities.

During the operation, the security personnel engaged the militants in a fierce exchange of gunfire. The troops demonstrated exceptional tactical coordination and resilience, ultimately succeeding in neutralizing five terrorists. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) described the encounter as intense and effective, noting that the militants were decisively eliminated during the confrontation. This marks a significant blow to the terrorist network operating in Lakki Marwat.

In addition to the elimination of the militants, security forces recovered a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition from the site. These arms are believed to have been used in multiple terrorist attacks in the area, underscoring the threat these militants posed to local security and civilian life. The recovered materials will likely provide valuable intelligence for further counter-terrorism operations.

Following the initial engagement, security agencies have launched a comprehensive follow-up sanitization sweep to ensure that no remaining elements of the Indian-sponsored khwarij remain in the vicinity. This ongoing operation aims to root out any residual threats and prevent future attacks, reflecting the commitment of Pakistani forces to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s counter-terrorism campaign continues with unwavering determination under the strategic framework of “Azm-e-Istehkam.” This initiative, endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, represents the country’s robust approach to eradicating terrorism, particularly those groups receiving foreign support. The operation in Lakki Marwat is a clear demonstration of Pakistan’s resolve to confront and dismantle all forms of terrorism threatening its sovereignty and security.
