Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq: Over 680 Militants Eliminated, Hundreds Injured in Major Offensive

ISLAMABAD: In a significant military offensive, Pakistani forces have successfully neutralized at least 684 terrorists and inflicted injuries on more than 912 militants during the recently conducted Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq. This large-scale operation was aimed at dismantling militant networks and their infrastructure that pose a persistent threat to Pakistan’s security.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting released a detailed statement highlighting the extensive scope of the operation. It revealed that the offensive targeted critical militant hideouts and strongholds linked to various groups actively engaged in hostile activities against Pakistan. Over the course of the operation, security forces destroyed a total of 252 militant posts, while capturing and subsequently demolishing an additional 44 positions, thereby severely disrupting the militants’ operational capabilities.

Furthermore, the statement emphasized the destruction of 229 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery pieces that were in the possession of these militant factions. This substantial loss of heavy weaponry has considerably weakened the militants’ ability to carry out coordinated attacks and maintain their presence in the region.

The operation also extended beyond Pakistan’s borders, with 73 terrorist hideouts across Afghanistan being targeted effectively. The strikes were executed during the night of March 14 and 15, focusing on locations associated with the Afghan Taliban and other militant groups that Pakistan refers to as Fitna al-Khawarij. These groups have long been involved in destabilizing activities and cross-border terrorism.

In addition to targeting militant camps, Pakistani forces destroyed several military installations and secret hideouts used by terrorists to plan and launch attacks. Notably, in Kandahar, technical support infrastructure believed to facilitate terrorist operations was dismantled. This included the destruction of a tunnel equipped with technical devices and a stockpile of equipment used by militants, further crippling their logistical support.

Closer to home, in the Chitral sector, the operation successfully eliminated the jump-off point at Badrini Post, which militants had been using as a strategic base for infiltration and movement. This move is expected to enhance border security and prevent future incursions.

The Ministry was keen to clarify that the operation was meticulously planned to avoid civilian casualties and damage to civil infrastructure. It firmly rejected allegations made by Afghan authorities and certain media outlets claiming that civilian areas were targeted during the offensive, labeling such assertions as inaccurate and misleading. The focus remained strictly on militant facilities and camps that directly supported terrorist activities.

Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq marks a decisive step in Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and secure its borders. By dismantling key militant infrastructure and eliminating a significant number of terrorists, the operation has dealt a heavy blow to groups threatening peace and stability in the region.
