Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Streamlines Rs12,500 Ramadan Relief Disbursement for Eligible Families

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken decisive steps to eliminate significant barriers that were hindering eligible recipients from obtaining the Rs12,500 financial aid under the Ramadan Relief Package 2026. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure that support reaches those in need promptly during the holy month of Ramadan, a period when many families rely on such assistance to meet their basic needs.

Under the direct guidance of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the Social Welfare Department has established dedicated redressal committees tasked specifically with resolving complaints and addressing any difficulties beneficiaries might encounter during the fund distribution process. These committees aim to provide a streamlined mechanism for grievance handling, reducing delays and minimizing the need for repeated visits to government offices.

For individuals facing issues with their personal data, such as incorrect or incomplete Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) details or mobile phone numbers, the newly formed committees have coordinated with the offices of Assistant Commissioners. Beneficiaries experiencing such problems are encouraged to reach out immediately to their respective Assistant Commissioner’s office, where their information will be verified and, if necessary, forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner for prompt correction. This step is crucial in ensuring that no eligible person is left out due to administrative errors.

Special provisions have also been made for elderly and disabled individuals who face challenges with fingerprint verification, a common hurdle in biometric authentication processes. Such beneficiaries can now obtain a certificate from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) along with a Family Registration Certificate (FRC). With these documents, they can approach the Assistant Commissioner’s office to facilitate the transfer of their payment to a close family member, ensuring that physical limitations do not prevent them from receiving their entitled relief.

In cases where the intended beneficiary has unfortunately passed away, the government has clarified that the relief amount will be disbursed to eligible family members. This process requires the submission of a valid death certificate along with an application, which will be cross-checked against NADRA records to confirm eligibility. This measure ensures that the support remains within the family and continues to assist those who depend on it.

However, it is important to note that payments cannot be processed for CNICs that have been blocked. When such cases arise, the funds are returned to the Director of Social Welfare to prevent misuse or fraud. This policy underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the relief program.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has emphasized the importance of resolving all complaints swiftly and effectively. He has instructed the administration to prioritize the needs of deserving individuals, ensuring that they do not have to endure multiple visits or bureaucratic hurdles during Ramadan. The overall goal is to guarantee that the financial assistance reaches beneficiaries without unnecessary delay, providing timely support to families during a month of spiritual reflection and increased expenses.
