Pakistan and UAE Leaders Hold Talks on Regional Stability Amid Rising Tensions

On Saturday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, engaged in a significant conversation with the United Arab Emirates’ Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The dialogue focused on the rapidly changing dynamics in the region, highlighting the urgent need for peace and stability amidst growing tensions. This high-level exchange reflects the ongoing diplomatic efforts between Pakistan and the UAE to address security concerns and foster cooperation.

During their phone call, both leaders shared their perspectives on the evolving geopolitical landscape, emphasizing the importance of maintaining calm and avoiding further escalation. The discussion came at a critical time when the Gulf region has witnessed a series of unsettling incidents, including recent attacks targeting the UAE. These developments have raised alarms not only within the Gulf Cooperation Council but also among neighboring countries, including Pakistan, which has longstanding ties with the UAE.

Senator Ishaq Dar conveyed Pakistan’s deep concern over the recent hostile acts affecting the UAE, reaffirming Islamabad’s unwavering solidarity with the Emirati government and its citizens. He underscored Pakistan’s commitment to supporting its Gulf partner in ensuring security and stability in the region. This expression of unity is particularly significant given Pakistan’s strategic interests and the large expatriate community residing in the UAE, which contributes substantially to bilateral relations.

The Foreign Office spokesperson highlighted that the conversation also touched upon broader regional issues, with both sides agreeing on the necessity of dialogue and peaceful resolution of conflicts. The leaders recognized that sustained peace is essential for economic progress and the well-being of millions across the Middle East and South Asia. Their exchange signals a mutual understanding to work collaboratively in addressing challenges that threaten regional harmony.

It is worth noting that Pakistan and the UAE have historically maintained close diplomatic and economic relations, often coordinating on matters of security and development. This recent interaction between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Minister Abdullah bin Zayed further strengthens the bilateral partnership, especially at a time when regional stability is fragile. Moving forward, both countries are expected to continue their engagement to promote peace and counter any threats that undermine the safety of their peoples.
