On Monday, Pakistan witnessed a significant disruption in its international air travel as over 105 flights were cancelled nationwide amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. This wave of cancellations has added to the ongoing challenges faced by travelers, marking a cumulative total of more than 350 suspended flights over the past three days. The situation has caused widespread inconvenience, particularly for passengers bound for key destinations in the Gulf region.
Major airports across the country have been severely impacted, with Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport experiencing the highest number of cancellations. A total of 32 flights scheduled to depart for prominent Middle Eastern hubs such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Sharjah, Kuwait, and Bahrain were called off. This disruption has not only affected outbound passengers but also the airlines’ operational schedules, creating a ripple effect across the aviation sector.
Similarly, Peshawar Airport faced a complete halt in its flight operations for the day, as all 22 domestic and international flights slated for Monday were cancelled. Lahore Airport also saw a significant number of cancellations, with 22 flights to destinations including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Bahrain being suspended.
