Pakistan’s ‘Ghazab lil-Haq’ Operation to Persist Until Afghan Taliban Halts Militant Support

A senior official from Pakistan’s security establishment has made it clear that the ongoing military offensive named “Ghazab lil-Haq” will continue for an indefinite period, contingent upon the Afghan Taliban’s concrete actions against terrorist organizations operating from Afghan soil. The official underscored that the future of this operation hinges entirely on whether the Taliban regime takes meaningful steps to dismantle militant networks that threaten Pakistan’s security.

Addressing the media, the official posed a stark choice to the Afghan Taliban leadership, stating that they must decide whether to align themselves with Pakistan or to continue providing sanctuary and support to terrorist groups. This statement reflects Islamabad’s firm stance that the military campaign is not arbitrary but conditional, based on verifiable and tangible progress in curbing militant activities along the porous border regions.

Expanding on the operational objectives, the official emphasized that the Pakistani military’s efforts will persist until the Afghan Taliban halts its facilitation of groups identified as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan. These groups have been repeatedly implicated in cross-border attacks and destabilizing activities within Pakistan. The official highlighted that the Taliban’s current patronage of multiple militant factions remains a significant threat, and Islamabad expects clear, verifiable assurances that such support will cease.

In a clear message of patience mixed with resolve, the official remarked, “We are in no hurry,” indicating that Pakistan is prepared for a prolonged campaign if necessary. The operation focuses on dismantling terrorist safe havens and disrupting their logistical and operational facilitators. These actions are framed as legitimate self-defense measures aimed at protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty and citizens from ongoing militant aggression.

Importantly, the official clarified that Pakistan’s conflict is not with the Afghan people but specifically targets those who threaten peace and security through violent means. Since the launch of the operation, Pakistani forces have successfully destroyed over 180 militant posts and regained control of more than 30 strategic locations that were previously used as bases for launching attacks against Pakistan.

This military campaign reflects Islamabad’s broader security strategy to neutralize threats emanating from across the border and to compel the Afghan Taliban to take responsibility for curbing terrorism within their territory. The evolving situation remains critical for regional stability, with Pakistan maintaining a vigilant stance until the Taliban demonstrates a genuine commitment to ending militant support.
