Pakistan Warns of Strong Retaliation Against Cross-Border Attacks from Afghanistan

Islamabad has issued a stern warning to the Afghan Taliban government and associated militant groups, declaring that any further hostile actions originating from Afghan soil will provoke a firm and carefully calibrated response. This announcement follows a series of targeted military operations conducted by Pakistan aimed at dismantling terrorist logistical hubs located across the border in Afghanistan. These operations come in the wake of a noticeable increase in cross-border attacks that have threatened the safety and security of Pakistani citizens.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that these measures were undertaken strictly within Pakistan’s sovereign right to defend its territory and people, as enshrined in international law, including the United Nations Charter. Officials highlighted that the primary objective behind these actions is to safeguard not only Pakistan’s population but also to contribute to the broader stability of the region. The statement underscored that any further provocations or attempts by terrorist factions to destabilize Pakistan will be met with responses that are both decisive and proportionate to the threat posed.

Concerns were raised over the increasing frequency of attacks launched from Afghan territory, which Islamabad alleges are being facilitated and supported by the Afghan Taliban regime in conjunction with external actors, notably India. Pakistan has called upon the Kabul administration to take immediate and effective steps against extremist groups such as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan, which are believed to be orchestrating these violent incursions. The Foreign Office stressed that without concrete action from the Taliban government, regional peace will remain elusive.

Furthermore, Pakistan urged the international community to adopt a unified stance in addressing the threats emanating from Afghanistan. It called for clear and verifiable measures to be implemented against terrorist organizations operating within Afghan borders. The country reiterated that its right to self-defense is not only a sovereign prerogative but also a legitimate response recognized under international norms. This message serves as a reminder that Pakistan will not tolerate any attempts to undermine its national security.

Despite the current tensions, Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing peace and stability across the region. The government conveyed its willingness to engage diplomatically but made it clear that it will continue to take all necessary actions to protect its citizens from external threats. This balanced approach reflects Pakistan’s broader strategy of maintaining regional harmony while firmly countering any aggression directed towards its territory.
