In Islamabad, a local court on Wednesday authorized a five-day physical remand for the suspects apprehended in the murder of businessman Amir Awan. The hearing was overseen by Judicial Magistrate Ehtisham Muqarib, who ordered the police to retain custody of the accused to facilitate further investigation. All suspects were presented before the court, which then adjourned the proceedings until April 6.

The murder case was initially registered at the Shehzad Town Police Station. In a swift development, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police resolved the case within hours, arresting five individuals linked to the crime. Law enforcement officials utilized advanced technology and human intelligence to track down the suspects, who were involved in a fatal shooting during a robbery at Awan’s farmhouse located in the Orchard Scheme during the early hours of Monday.

Police confirmed that the detained suspects hail from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and were captured during raids in Charsadda and Mardan. These individuals are believed to be part of an organized robbery gang and have been transferred to Islamabad for further questioning. Statements from the victim’s wife and security personnel have also been recorded as part of the inquiry.

police accounts, five armed men wielding Kalashnikov rifles gained entry to the farmhouse by climbing through an unlocked window after injuring a security guard. The assailants opened fire on Amir Awan, inflicting multiple gunshot wounds that left him critically injured. He was immediately taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for emergency treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities reported that the attackers fled the scene after stealing cash and other valuables from the property. CCTV footage circulating on social media depicts masked individuals armed with weapons entering the premises. The FIR filed includes Section 397, which addresses robbery involving deadly weapons, underscoring the severity of the offense.
