Widespread Rain and Thunderstorms Forecast Across Pakistan Starting April 2

Pakistan is preparing for extensive rainfall, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms affecting large parts of the country from Wednesday through April 4. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning about a powerful westerly weather system advancing from the west.

This weather forecast coincides with significant diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions, alongside government reassurances regarding the availability of essential supplies.

The PMD indicated that the incoming system will bring rain and thunderstorms to Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with hail possible in some localized areas. Karachi and other Sindh regions are expected to experience rain and thunderstorms between April 2 and April 4. Additionally, snowfall may occur in the mountainous zones of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant due to the risk of flash flooding, waterlogging, and strong winds. This alert follows recent rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where severe storms have resulted in at least 18 fatalities and numerous injuries over the past week.

In the coming days, Pakistan’s ability to manage severe weather conditions will be tested, alongside its ongoing diplomatic challenges amid regional uncertainties.
