Rain and Snow Expected Across Pakistan as Weather Systems Move In

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced that various parts of the country will experience rainfall and snowfall in the coming days as multiple weather systems sweep across the region. These conditions are expected to bring not only precipitation but also the possibility of thunderstorms, impacting daily life and travel plans.

In the capital city, Islamabad, the skies are predicted to be partly cloudy today, offering some respite from extreme weather. Meanwhile, the northern areas of Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are likely to see partly cloudy weather accompanied by light rain or snowfall in certain localities. These conditions reflect the influence of cold fronts moving through the mountainous regions, which often trigger such precipitation during this season.

Travelers have been cautioned by the Pakistan Airports Authority to prepare for potential disruptions caused by the changing weather patterns. This advisory comes as parts of Lahore and selected districts within Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to receive rainfall along with thunderstorms, which could affect transportation and outdoor activities. In contrast, Karachi is forecast to remain mostly dry, experiencing partly cloudy skies with a humidity level around 80 percent and gentle westerly winds blowing at approximately 7 kilometers per hour.

Authorities have urged residents in the affected areas to stay informed through regular weather updates and to take necessary precautions, especially in places prone to localized heavy rain or snowfall. These measures are crucial to ensure safety and minimize inconvenience as the country navigates through these dynamic weather conditions.
