Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has officially reinstated its direct flight services between Pakistan and London following a six-year interruption, marking a notable advancement in the nation’s aviation sector.

This development is viewed as a positive stride toward enhancing the political and economic ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. The restoration of these flights is expected to facilitate smoother travel and strengthen bilateral relations.

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott welcomed the move, emphasizing the significance of the large Pakistani community in the UK, which numbers in the hundreds of thousands. She remarked that this step will further ease travel and deepen the connection between the two countries, reflecting the evolving partnership.

In a significant development, Pakistan’s Defence Secretary described the resumption of direct flights as a landmark occasion for the country’s aviation industry, symbolizing the revival of a longstanding link between Pakistan and London.

He highlighted that PIA and London have maintained a strong partnership for decades, which was unfortunately paused for six years. The Defence Secretary expressed optimism that the renewed flight operations would enhance trade and tourism, boosting business opportunities between the two nations.

Additionally, direct flights from Karachi to London are anticipated to commence soon, further improving connectivity and making travel more convenient for both business and leisure travelers.
