Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Launch Missiles at Israel and US Bases in Gulf Amid Rising Tensions

Tehran witnessed a significant escalation in regional hostilities as Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced the launch of missile strikes targeting Israel alongside US military installations in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain. This development was confirmed on Wednesday through Iranian state television, highlighting a new phase in the ongoing conflict that has gripped the Middle East for nearly a month.

The statement from the Revolutionary Guards, broadcast by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), detailed that precision-guided missiles—both liquid- and solid-fueled—along with attack drones were deployed against what they described as “targets in the heart of the occupied territories,” a clear reference to Israel. Additionally, the strikes extended to US military bases scattered across the Gulf region, marking a direct challenge to American presence and influence in these strategic locations.

In a swift response, Kuwaiti air defense forces reported intercepting and responding to missile and drone attacks early Wednesday morning. The Kuwaiti military confirmed these hostile actions on their official social media channels, noting that the attacks included drones that caused a fire at Kuwait’s primary international airport, disrupting operations and raising concerns about the security situation in the Gulf. This incident underscores the intensifying nature of the conflict, which has seen multiple Gulf nations caught in the crossfire over recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has stepped forward diplomatically, expressing its support for efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire and restoring peace in the volatile region. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued a statement on the social media platform X, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating dialogue and negotiations that could help de-escalate tensions. He highlighted the importance of peace and stability not only for the Middle East but for the broader international community as well.

It is worth noting that Pakistan’s offer to host peace talks reflects a growing desire among regional players to seek diplomatic solutions amidst the ongoing violence. The nearly four-week-long conflict has already caused significant humanitarian and geopolitical repercussions, making such initiatives critical. In a related development, international observers continue to monitor the situation closely, as any further escalation could have far-reaching consequences beyond the immediate region.
