Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah Orders Immediate Action to Resolve Karachi’s Traffic Congestion

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has expressed serious concern over the persistent and worsening traffic congestion plaguing Karachi on a daily basis. In a firm directive issued on Tuesday, he instructed the Additional Inspector General of Police to take all necessary steps to restore smooth traffic flow across the city without delay. The Chief Minister’s intervention comes amid growing public frustration over the long hours commuters spend stuck in gridlock, which has become a major urban challenge.

Addressing the issue, Murad Ali Shah described the situation as deeply regrettable, highlighting the inconvenience and hardship faced by ordinary citizens who are forced to endure these traffic snarls. He made it clear that any negligence or laxity in managing the city’s traffic would not be tolerated under his administration. This stern warning underscores the government’s commitment to improving urban mobility and ensuring that Karachi’s roads function efficiently.

To tackle the problem more effectively, the Chief Minister ordered an increase in the deployment of traffic police personnel on key arteries and highways throughout Karachi. This move aims to enhance on-ground traffic management and ensure better regulation of vehicles during peak hours. Additionally, he emphasized the strict enforcement of existing laws that restrict heavy vehicles from using certain roads during specified times, a measure designed to prevent bottlenecks and facilitate smoother traffic movement.

Meanwhile, the city witnessed a tragic incident on Tuesday in the Quaidabad area, where a speeding car collided with two motorcyclists, resulting in their deaths. This unfortunate event highlights the urgent need for stricter traffic control and adherence to speed limits to prevent such fatal accidents. The incident has further intensified calls for improved road safety measures and vigilant policing across Karachi’s busy streets.

Murad Ali Shah’s directives reflect a broader effort by the Sindh government to address Karachi’s chronic traffic issues, which have long been a source of public dissatisfaction and economic loss. The Chief Minister’s focus on law enforcement and increased manpower signals a proactive approach aimed at transforming the city’s traffic landscape and enhancing the daily lives of its residents.
