Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Denounces Trump’s Peace Claims as False Propaganda

In a sharp rebuke, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has publicly labeled former US President Donald Trump as a ‘deceitful American president,’ strongly dismissing his recent assertions about pursuing peace with Tehran. This condemnation highlights the deep mistrust and animosity that continue to define the relationship between Iran and the United States, especially following years of heightened tensions and conflicting narratives.

The Revolutionary Guard criticized Trump for what it described as ‘contradictory behaviour,’ pointing to the inconsistency between his peace talk claims and the aggressive policies his administration pursued during his tenure. This includes the re-imposition of stringent sanctions and the withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal, actions that Tehran views as hostile and undermining any genuine diplomatic efforts.

It is worth noting that the Revolutionary Guard, a powerful military and political force within Iran, often serves as the voice of the country’s hardline stance on foreign affairs. Their recent statement not only rejects Trump’s peace overtures but also signals Tehran’s skepticism toward any American promises, especially those coming from a leader they accuse of duplicity.

Meanwhile, the broader context of US-Iran relations remains fraught with suspicion and conflict. Despite intermittent talks and international efforts to revive diplomatic channels, mutual distrust continues to hamper progress. Tehran’s reaction to Trump’s peace claims underscores the challenges ahead in achieving any meaningful dialogue or reconciliation between the two nations.

As tensions persist, observers note that such public denunciations by influential Iranian institutions like the Revolutionary Guard are likely intended to consolidate domestic support and send a clear message to Washington. The ongoing cycle of accusations and denials reflects the complex and often volatile nature of the geopolitical landscape in the Middle East.
