The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is gearing up for its much-anticipated 11th season with the announcement of a highly distinguished and diverse commentary panel. This year’s lineup boasts 23 members who will bring their expert insights and vibrant energy to the broadcast, delivering an immersive experience for cricket fans across the globe. Among the fresh faces making their debut is former West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, who will lend his voice to the HBL PSL commentary for the very first time.

Adding to the excitement, former Australian women’s cricket star Lisa Sthalekar is set to return, enriching the panel with her deep understanding of the game. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has curated a bilingual commentary team to cater to the league’s diverse audience, featuring a blend of seasoned Pakistani cricketers and international legends. This approach ensures that fans can enjoy the action with expert analysis in both English and Urdu, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

One of the notable highlights is the inclusion of Shoaib Malik, a stalwart of the PSL who has played in every edition since its inception. Transitioning from player to commentator, Malik will join the Urdu commentary team, bringing his firsthand experience and tactical knowledge to the microphone. He will be accompanied by former Pakistan captains Salman Butt and Sana Mir, both of whom have extensive international experience and a deep connection with Pakistani cricket fans.

The Urdu commentary panel is further strengthened by the presence of seasoned broadcaster Tariq Saeed, former women’s international Marina Iqbal, Shah Faisal, and Ayaz Chaudhary, who earned acclaim as the Pepsi Voice of Pakistan in 2022. This seven-member team promises to deliver insightful and engaging commentary throughout the tournament, capturing the nuances of the game for Urdu-speaking audiences.

On the English commentary front, the panel features a star-studded lineup of cricketing greats from around the world. Alongside Brathwaite, South African Jean-Paul Duminy and the melodious Michael Haysman will provide their perspectives, while England’s Dominic Cork, Nick Knight, and Mark Butcher add their wealth of experience. New Zealand’s Martin Guptill and Australia’s Greg Blewett also join the ranks, alongside Bangladesh’s Athar Ali Khan, creating a truly international flavor to the broadcast.

Pakistan’s cricketing legends are well represented in the English commentary team as well. Former captains Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja, Aamir Sohail, and Urooj Mumtaz Khan will share their expert analysis, supported by former international Bazid Khan. Sikandar Bakht will play a dual role, contributing to the commentary panel and serving as one of the four presenters during the tournament, showcasing his versatility both behind the mic and on screen.

In addition to the commentators, the PSL 11 broadcast will feature renowned sports broadcasters Neroli Meadows and Jess Crowe, who are making their debut in the league. They will join Zainab Abbas, a familiar face and respected host, to lead the presenting team. This dynamic group of presenters is expected to bring fresh energy and professionalism to the coverage, engaging viewers with pre-match insights, interviews, and analysis.

Salman Naseer, Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Super League, expressed his enthusiasm about the announcement, emphasizing the panel’s blend of experience and star power. He highlighted that the commentators’ extensive backgrounds in cricket will enrich the viewing experience, ensuring fans receive high-quality, insightful commentary as the league progresses toward its landmark 11th edition.

With such a comprehensive and star-studded commentary team in place, PSL 11 promises to deliver not only thrilling on-field action but also captivating narratives and expert breakdowns from some of the most respected voices in cricket. From the opening ball to the grand final, audiences can look forward to a broadcast filled with passion, expertise, and the unmistakable energy of cricket’s finest analysts.
