ISLAMABAD: Madam Amina Hassan Sheikh, the President of the Young Parliamentarians Forum and a member of the Provincial Assembly, recently paid a formal visit to the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad. During her meeting with His Excellency Ambassador Amiri Raza Moghaddam, she conveyed heartfelt condolences on the tragic martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s close associate and Iran’s national security chief, Ali Larijani. This visit underscored Pakistan’s deep sympathy and solidarity with Iran during a challenging period.

During the discussions, Amina Hassan Sheikh emphasized the historically strong and multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and Iran. She highlighted how both countries have maintained close diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties over the decades, which have contributed to regional stability. The delegation stressed the importance of continuing to nurture these bonds, especially through enhanced parliamentary exchanges and collaborative efforts.

Furthermore, Amina Hassan Sheikh reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for Iran’s sovereignty and national security. She pointed out that such cooperation is crucial not only for bilateral relations but also for promoting peace and security in the broader region. The parliamentarian expressed hope that both nations would intensify their joint initiatives to address common challenges and foster mutual understanding.

Ambassador Amiri Raza Moghaddam warmly received the delegation and expressed appreciation for the thoughtful gesture. He acknowledged the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Iran, noting that such visits strengthen trust and pave the way for deeper cooperation. The ambassador also reiterated Iran’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan on issues of mutual interest, including trade, security, and cultural exchange.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides agreeing to further enhance inter-parliamentary dialogue and collaboration. This engagement reflects the ongoing efforts by leaders on both sides to build a resilient partnership that can contribute to regional peace and prosperity. The visit by Amina Hassan Sheikh serves as a reminder of the importance of diplomatic outreach and solidarity during times of adversity.
