On the occasion of Pakistan Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his warmest congratulations to the entire nation, marking this day as a momentous chapter in the history of South Asia. The 23rd of March is not just a date on the calendar but a symbol of unity and determination that shaped the destiny of millions. It was on this day, eighty-six years ago, that the Muslim leadership of the subcontinent came together with a shared vision and steadfast resolve to establish a separate homeland for Muslims, where they could live with dignity, freedom, and political rights.

This historic milestone draws its inspiration from the profound vision of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, whose ideas laid the intellectual foundation for a state dedicated to the aspirations of Muslims in the region. The Lahore Resolution of 1940, passed on this very day, galvanized the Muslim community, igniting a spirit of determination that culminated in the creation of Pakistan on 14 August 1947. Under the exemplary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the dream of a sovereign nation was realized, forever changing the course of history.

Since its inception, Pakistan has stood as a testament to the sacrifices, perseverance, and unwavering resolve of its founders and citizens. The journey from a newly formed state to a nuclear-armed nation reflects the resilience and steadfastness that have defined Pakistan’s path. Despite facing numerous challenges over the decades, the country has continuously strived to uphold the ideals envisioned by its founding fathers, pushing forward with determination towards a brighter future.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the ongoing efforts to shape Pakistan in line with Quaid-e-Azam’s vision require collective dedication, steadfastness, and a unified national strategy. He highlighted the government’s achievements in steering the economy towards sustainable growth, noting a consistent decline in inflation and a rise in investor confidence as clear indicators of progress. These positive economic trends are the result of bold reforms, prudent policymaking, and the unwavering belief of the Pakistani people in their country’s potential.

In addition to economic advancements, the Prime Minister paid tribute to the professionalism and patriotism of Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies. He recalled the significant success of Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos, where the military delivered a decisive response to hostile threats, reinforcing the nation’s defense capabilities. More recently, the swift and strong reaction to the unprovoked attack by a Taliban insurgent group on 26 February 2026, through Operation Ghazab-lill-Haq, underscored Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its peace and security against terrorism.

On the diplomatic front, Pakistan continues to advocate for peace and stability in the region. The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), emphasizing that a just resolution of this longstanding issue is essential for lasting peace in South Asia. Furthermore, Pakistan stands in solidarity with the people of Palestine and remains deeply concerned about the escalating tensions in the Middle East. As a responsible member of the international community, Pakistan pursues balanced diplomacy focused on dialogue, mutual respect, and regional harmony.

Concluding his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid homage to the leaders and activists of the Pakistan Movement, whose sacrifices laid the foundation of the nation. He also saluted the brave men and women of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies who continue to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and independence with unwavering dedication. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that with unity, sincere efforts, and visionary policies, Pakistan is poised to rise to greater heights and fulfill the aspirations of its founders.

He called upon the nation to remain resolute and united, emphasizing that no challenge is insurmountable when the people stand together with a common purpose. With relentless spirit and collective determination, Pakistan will continue its journey towards becoming a strong, prosperous, and developed country. Insha’Allah, the future holds immense promise for Pakistan and its people. Pakistan Zindabad!
