Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a significant telephonic discussion with King Abdullah II of Jordan on Friday, exchanging warm Eidul Fitr greetings. This cordial conversation highlighted the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Jordan, with the Prime Minister extending heartfelt felicitations to the Jordanian Royal Family as well as the people of the Kingdom. In a reciprocal gesture, King Abdullah II conveyed his sincere wishes to the Prime Minister and the people of Pakistan, reinforcing the strong bonds shared by the two nations.

During their exchange, both leaders underscored the importance of unity and harmony within the Muslim Ummah, emphasizing the need for collective peace and cooperation amidst challenging times. The dialogue then shifted towards the pressing developments unfolding in the Middle East, an area currently experiencing heightened tensions and conflict. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his grave concern regarding the ongoing hostilities and the impact they have on regional stability.

In a firm stance, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the recent attacks targeting Jordan amid the escalating regional turmoil. He voiced Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Jordanian people as they navigate these difficult circumstances. Shehbaz Sharif stressed the critical necessity for all parties involved to exercise restraint and pursue diplomatic channels to de-escalate tensions, thereby preventing further deterioration of the situation.

Reflecting on the close personal and diplomatic ties between the two countries, the Prime Minister fondly remembered King Abdullah II’s visit to Pakistan last November. This visit had further cemented the friendship and cooperation between Islamabad and Amman. Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to enhancing bilateral relations across multiple sectors, particularly focusing on expanding trade, investment opportunities, and defense collaboration.

Both leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining continuous communication to address not only bilateral issues but also broader regional challenges. This ongoing dialogue aims to foster mutual understanding and coordinated efforts to promote peace and prosperity in the region. The conversation between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and King Abdullah II thus reaffirmed the strong partnership and shared vision for stability and development between Pakistan and Jordan.
