Parvez Elahi Prays for Pakistan, Condemns Restrictions on Imran Khan During Eid Celebrations

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central president Chaudhry Parvez Elahi led congregational prayers at the Masjid Khatam-un-Nabiyeen in Gujrat on Saturday. The event saw the participation of several senior PTI leaders, including Rasikh Elahi, Mian Imran Masood, Usman Zahoor Elahi, Chaudhry Kashif Sandhu, Chaudhry Khalid Sandhu, and Chaudhry Nisar Ahmed, who stood alongside Elahi in a show of party solidarity during the festive day.

Following the prayers, Parvez Elahi addressed the media, extending heartfelt Eid greetings to the people of Pakistan. He took the opportunity to voice his concerns over the ongoing restrictions imposed on PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Elahi emphasized that Imran Khan had not committed any wrongdoing that would justify such treatment, particularly highlighting the unjust limitations placed on the former premier’s family members in visiting him. This, he argued, was a violation of basic rights and an unnecessary hardship on both Khan and his loved ones.

Reflecting on the political landscape, Elahi revisited the last general elections, praising Imran Khan’s leadership and resilience in the face of adversity. He urged supporters and the nation to remain patient, expressing confidence that the truth about alleged electoral rigging would eventually come to light. “In the past, God has helped us overcome challenges, and if it is His will, the remaining instances of rigging will also be exposed,” Elahi remarked, reinforcing the PTI’s stance on electoral transparency and justice.

Turning his attention to the current government, Elahi criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for what he described as poor governance and mismanagement of national resources. He specifically pointed to the controversial purchase of an expensive aircraft, which he claimed was an example of the ruling party’s disregard for the country’s economic difficulties. This criticism underscored ongoing political tensions and the deep divisions between PTI and the ruling coalition.

Elahi also expressed serious concerns about Imran Khan’s deteriorating health, attributing it to deliberate neglect by the authorities. He highlighted that the former prime minister’s eyesight had worsened due to inadequate medical care while in custody. Stressing the importance of humane treatment, Elahi reminded the government of the fundamental human rights guaranteed under both national and international laws, including the right of prisoners to meet with their families, especially during times of illness.

He warned that the government’s restrictive policies were not only causing distress to Imran Khan and his family but were also fueling public anxiety and threatening the cohesion of the nation. Elahi’s remarks came at a time when political tensions remain high, and the country is grappling with questions of justice, governance, and the rule of law. His call for patience, justice, and respect for human rights resonated deeply with many who continue to follow the unfolding political drama closely.
